Religion & Stuff

I have no clue on what we discused today and I failed to make a post yesterday so I'll just touch upon that while I try to get a grip on my life again.

So, religion. I hate the topic. I think trying to convince someone that their views are a bit ridiculous is as futile as them trying to convince me that they are not. I find it a bit hilarious that we can talk so passionately about how other religions try to stuff their ideas down our throats without considering the fact that we are guilty of the same obnoxious tenacity. I do not mean to sound hypocritical on this, considering I am guilty of it myself (though, only when that topic becomes inescapable), but I like to practice looking at every other possible perspective before I cast judgement upon others.

I am not going to describe my whole personal "Church of Melanie", but I would like to comment on one thing:

if there is anything I can believe in, it is science. There is something about blind faith that is unappealing to me. But in science, as blind as we are, it is comforting to know that we are struggling and succeeding in poking tiny eye holes in this great big, overwhelming picture.

I think it is comforting to know that, although I cannot see the atom and its subatomic particals with my own eyes, I know they exist- and I can prove it.

(Sorry in advance for any spelling errors- I took spellcheck off my phone and this new keyboard is confusing.)
