Another Member of the Masses (Alexia Barrios)

What this book has shown me thus far is that I am a part of the masses. I embrace the wall and conceptualize everything as having an end because that is the only way I can survive and function. This is because that is how humans are designed to function. Society has trained us all to be “active but stupid people” because beginning something and going through with it to the end is how everything must be done (at least that is what society has told us). We are trained that individual success is correlated with monetary value. That is the reason we are trained to be “active but stupid” as we go through life trying to figure out our “primary cause” and go through with it until the end until we reach success. That is what we have been told from the beginning of our lives and continue being told to this very day. We live in a society that if you are unsure of your life plan by the time you are halfway through college, you are lost in life and destined for failure. It is the sad truth, but it is the truth that is practiced by almost everyone in our society because we yearn to be a member of society and reach success in order to feel that we are worth something.
