World of clones

When Dostoevsky spoke about Cleopatra sticking gold pins in her servant's breasts, I thought it was really disturbing. Today's lecture about why people kill was very interesting to me. I do believe religion has done an incredible job at calming people down and giving them a reason not to kill, but I do believe that paradoxically, it gives a reason TO kill. For example, many thousands of wars and conflicts have begun just because two people or two groups did not agree on one religion or god. Another thing that interested me a lot about the lecture was on the topic of 'what if everyone is perfect and the same?' We would really have nothing to look forward and no competition, nothing to excel to... I would hate to live in a world like that. For me, being a singer, having competition and having someone to aspire to be like because they are THAT much better than everyone else is what drives me. Wanting to excel drives me, so living in a world like that filled with clones would be horrific for me.
