Barbaric

It’s interesting how we have become more barbaric over time. Typically, we think of ourselves, currently speaking, as a civilized society with strict rules and societal cooperation. However, looking at it from Dostoyevsky’s perspective, I have to agree that we are more barbaric now than ever. We are in a war right now in the Middle East, why? At this point, who the f*** knows. But originally we were “defending” ourselves from terrorists. Although initially this seemed like a justifiable reason to be spending BILLIONS of dollars, I have to say now that we are only there to carry out our dominant figure in the world. We are no longer killing for the protection of our families, food, shelters, or the basic needs. We are killing because naturally we have a desire to be absolutely dominant, while simultaneously pretending to be the peacekeepers.
