Class Discussion (2/18) (Meagan Adler)

After today's analytical discussion on the faults with the theory of evolution (and the climatic ripping  of the 5 dollar bill), I was particularly intrigued by the idea that we almost religiously go against our self interest in our need to follow the advantage that “continually shatters every system constructed by mankind for the benefit of mankind" (pg.15).  Man goes as far as to “distort the truth intentionally" (pg.16) to “justify his logic" (pg.16).  This disproves the theory of evolution, for we are not only willing, but desire to go against our self interest in our need for control.  This reminds us that there are no definite answers in our infinite universe and that the boundaries we create can be easily broken down.  Everything is defined by man and is given value by man; it is our need to accept these manufactured definite ideas that continually gives us false answers to our existence in an infinite universe.
