Evolutionary Race

Evolution is defined to be the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth. But after today’s discussion I believe that our ‘inherent advantage’ from other organisms on this earth is quite unfair. Animals unconsciously develop and adapt to changing environments; however, this process takes thousands upon thousands of years. On the other hand, human beings consciously make the choice to change, advance, revolutionize, and eventually, evolve. We constantly are adapting and transforming our environment with conscious thought and effort. In the evolutionary race, as a result, we have a major head start. Other species are not able to keep up with the ever changing world. As technology grows, our mind expands, and our climate changes dramatically. Once empty skies are filled with dark clouds of smoke. Smog, global warming, deforestation and more are just a few of the problems that we as human beings have caused. For such an advanced species we are destroying our own world. In fact, the more we advance, the more we destroy.
