Discussion 2/19 (Alexia Barrios)

Yesterday I was left contemplating if free will is really our “most advantageous advantage”  (15) and today’s lecture gave me the opportunity to view more sides on the topic. Though free will can lead us off the path rational and logical path placed before us and onto one that goes against our own self-interest, the freedom to break rules is what leads to superiority.  Those superior and intellectual beings are who they are because they broke away from the norm that society has create for us and followed their own path. The ability to break rules and go against the boundaries set by society is what allows us to progress as a whole. If we did not bend or break the rules, our society would not be what it is today because there is no way it could have progressed.
