I felt that today's discussion made a good amount of sense, though I may not like it. As I have discussed in my blog posts in zen and the art of motorcycle mainetnece, there are some questions that man can simply never know the answer to. All logic and fact that we create is just that, something we create, they are simply abstract ideas that our minds form in an attempt to bring order and reason into a unverse that has none. As for the enjoyment in pain that the narrartor seems to have, as I said in class, I believe that the enjoyment comes from the fact that pain is something tangible that you have some degree of control over and, for the most part can understand, that is why, on some deep level it serves as a sort of comfort in an uncontrollable world.
