Comment on 2/19 Discussion

The F**k it Corollary

The longer time goes on without a “f**k it” moment, the more the probability of a “f**k it” moment will occur. (As paraphrased from Dostoyevsky’s ideas expressed in today's reading) One good example of the F**k it Corollary is this blog, even though I know that this blog is in some way good for me, I have been told it will provide me with a good grade or I will attain some knowledge from the discussion of the subject, I still have the growing urge to just throw up my hands and exclaim “f**k it.” One could say that I do this out of boredom, the fact that I don’t feel any gratification from following the commands of a guiding being. Or one could say that I desire freedom, these few minutes of my life should be dictated by what I want and I should have the power to choose what to do! Yet, I, and in metaphor the human race, succumb to certain rules in society that force us to live against our best interest. Yet these rules only doom us to break them, as the popular saying goes: rules are meant to be broken.
