What is nature? Is it something that defines us as a species? Does it fully explain our behavior? Or is is yet another example of something we rigidly follow (almost like a religion) even though we ourselves created it. Like religion and the evolutionary theory, human beings also created the idea of nature. Yes, nature exists; however, nature exists in the natural world as exemplified through various animal and plant species. Today, there are two natures. The nature that causes the ebs and flows of the Earth, and the nature that states that aspects of human beings. Furthermore, this idea of nature shatters into multiple glass fractures as one branch of it states that we are blood thirsty selfish beings while the other says we are innately good. Hard for someone to believe in something that seems so contradictory. So when asked what is nature I would now say it is most definitely a social construction developed over centuries by human beings to try to establish definites in a world of mysteries. It is yet another example of our futile attempt to explain a world desperate to find answers.
