Audiences and Advantages

I really love the part of the novel when we get to the climax and I think at this junction we are just at the peak. He mentions the idea of humanity’s “advantage” dozens of time on pages 13-15, and the audience is left waiting to be told what exactly it is.

The speaker’s writing is no longer casual and easy, but suddenly everything is stressed. He is frustrated and tiered of people not taking him seriously. The speaker throughout the novel has asked for the audience to “not jest” (13) or has given us examples of how he expects us to react such as “’Ha, ha, ha! You will be finding enjoyment in toothache next,’” you cry, with a laugh.” (9). He expects us not to take his options seriously, and he is angry. He believes he has found the truth and no one will listen to him or take him seriously. As I read most of the passages on page 15 in my mind the speaker is on the verge of yelling.
