2/11

A lot of times we do not have legitimate reasons for getting upset with a person. Like I said in class, my "friend" (if it is even appropriate to call her that) pisses me off with every little thing she says or does. Honestly, I have my reasons for not liking her as a person, but is it really necessary that I get angry at her for the pettiest of things? While it is not exactly necessary, it makes me feel a weird sense of catharsis. If I get angry at her, I rationalize with myself that she must actually be doing something dumb or mean or ridiculous enough to evoke such a negative response out of me. But at the end of the day, like Dostoyevsky said in his book, it is just an excuse to be offended even though what she did/said never really offended me in the first place.
