Point A to Point B

Today’s discussion was interesting in a variety of ways. Personally, I related the most to the idea that when we go on road trips we find ourselves desperate to reach our destination. As most of us agreed on, we do not randomly get off at an exit just to explore what is around us. Instead, we just take the same route that thousands of people before us have taken in order to get to where we want to in the fastest way possible. This whole concept acts as a metaphor for the typical human perspective. Most people are convinced that in life you must get from point A to point B…from being born to the after life (heaven, etc.). Throughout the journey, it is almost as if all of our actions are shaped by our motives to get to point B and we rarely ever drift off for more than a few “miles”. Overall, I find this idea to be captivating and I must admit that the few weeks of discussion on the novel really helped me understand its meaning.
