My Understanding

Although I was absent today, I will use my peers’ posts as a basis for my post. The overall idea (from my understanding) is that individuality is something particular to humans and involves the concept that all humans are characteristically different. For the most part, I can agree because I believe that most animals are the same except for maybe a few physical differences. Then again, one can make the argument that we do not know what goes on in the minds of all these animals and it is very possible that they too are all unique. Either way, I believe that individuality is an important concept to understand when reading this novel and when analyzing anything because individuality is the reason that we cannot really characterize things as “normal”. Because everybody is different in their own way, one sole thing cannot be considered “normal”. Instead, what we do is decide what the most similar trends in characteristics are for humans and we later establish norms.
