Discussion 2/24 (Alexia Barrios)

As people we are compelled to go from point A to point B, and only focus on that aspect of the journey. We focus on starting and ending a certain project but then do not truly pay attention or enjoy what occurs in the middle, which goes against the very cliché we brought up in class; "it's about the journey, not the destination". This is because we are preprogrammed or designed to strive to reach certain goals such as graduating high school, graduating college, or getting our dream job, and we focus so much on meeting those ends that we truly forget to enjoy the journey that occurs between them. I believe now in generation this concept is truer than ever. Students now spend their entire high school careers focusing on one goal; getting into college. Some of us focus so hard on this goal that we forget that high school is a pivotal point in our lives. It's a hell of a journey and most of us are missing it. It's a time where we are expected to make mistakes then learn from them, grow into our own and developing our own moral, philosophical and religious beliefs and etc. Instead many of us are not focused on that, but instead are intently focused on reaching that certain goal and don't admire the journey that comes along while trying to reach it.
