Class Discussion (2/24)

After today's analytically complex class discussion, I was particularly intrigued by the idea that we are not only willing but have an unrelenting desire to go against  rationale and logic and follow our most “advantageous advantage" in order to convince ourselves that we have the ability to be an individual.  People who only follow logic and live by the laws of nature live a monotonously dull life and not only deceive others but are deceiving themselves with who they really are.  The socially defined and logical person cannot be an individual.  I also found the idea that we are terrified of going off the structured path particularly intriguing. We continuously focus on our destination to a point where we do not experience the journey. We work to reach this destination but do not want to actually reach it because we get too far away from the boundaries and begin to question our existence in this infinite universe.
