The universe

The idea that the universe is limitless is scary and awe-inspiring at the same time. It is scary for multiple reasons i.e. it makes us feel vulnerable, we do not really know what is out there, we as human beings are not relevant to the endless universe, etc. But at the same time, it is completely amazing. It is amazing because there are so many possibilities of what we live amongst. To think that we are so small, so insignificant as a species, as a planet, is unfathomable. We are but one single grain of sand in a never ending beach. In all honesty, it is intriguing and crazy and mind blowing all at the same time, despite being so mysterious and strange and absolutely frightening. Dostoyevsky understood this and he made that clear through the ideas and thoughts of his underground man's character. We do not matter. We will disappear. We will be forgotten (or never even acknowledged in the first place), and the universe will continue to go on.  Life will go on without us, no matter how important we believe we are.
