Comment on 2/3 Discussion

I feel that the most important concept that was discussed today was the idea that when other people are happy around us, we tend to try to make them know that we are unhappy, if we are, and the happier the other people are, the more you try to make them realize it. I feel that the initial comment talking about the paragraph about the fact that one could not change even though they might really want to is slightly misdirected, personally I think that the idea is that, according to this man, one actually strives for a sense of ending and that we actually want to try to find a single aspect that defines us wholly, or completely fulfill an expectation. Because without that fulfillment, those who are overly conscious are aware of how their decisions can pull their character either way of a certain perception or classification and if they are fully defined, the over-consciousness does not play as much of a role, now that you are clearly defined and your actions cannot change what you have become. This seems to be eluding to the idea of the brick wall that comes up later in the book though.
