Time

One topic that I thought of today in class is the negative view on time during this section. Yes, time was able to help him figure himself out. He is writing in the present during the first half, where he is 40 and then in the past where he is 24. But the section about being a mouse and having to dwell on everything gives time a negative view. The more you dwell on what has happened to you, it can drive you crazy. You think of many different ways to seek revenge. You know for the most part you will not do it. The narrator knows he will not, but also dwells on what he does to other people. It is somewhat like guilt. I feel bad for him because he really wants to be accepted and be ignorant for once and it can never occur. He has to weigh all the possibilities and will never end up acting. Most people will not though.
