Mouse vs. Man

I liked our discussion today on the mouse vs. the man.  The man wants revenge when someone does something to him and will act on this.  He will get revenge right away.  The narrator is jealous of people like this because he will not get revenge on the person, making him the mouse.  He knows that getting revenge on someone who did something bad to you will not give him justice.  However, he will overthink the situation over and over again after it is done.  Meaning, he will “suffer a hundred times more than he on whom it revenges itself,” (page 7).  The narrator envies the “normal man” because he will not overthink it and will just act and get the revenge over with.  This “normal man” he calls the stupid man but he is still envious of him.  The narrator wishes he was not so conscious of everything so  he would not have to relive the moment over and over again without being able to act on this anger.
