Post on Video

I liked the video because it made me think more about the universe and what we should or should not believe.  It helped me contemplate the class discussion we had yesterday.  I agree with what Bill Nye said about why should we believe in books about all this that were written ages ago.  How do we know that words were not lost in translation and that it is still what they were trying to say years ago?   I liked how he connected this to the game telephone.  It’s the same thing as when someone tells something along a line of people, at the end it is probably not what the first person intended on saying.  Both sides of the rebuttal were presented with good arguments.  I found both points of view interesting because it was cool to see them rebut back and forth over the topic of evolution and creationism.

  1. I did not see the video, but what Carlye is saying is interesting. I have never thought about the fact that some words could mean something completely different now than they did a hundred years ago. I did hear about this debate and I spoke about it a lot with my mother. Different people take away different things from this debate. My mother is very religious so obviously she did not agree much with what Bill Nye had to say. But, growing up at this time I did agree a lot with Bill Nye and I really do want to see the entire debate.
