People should believe in what they want to believe in

Today in class we discussed if we would want Mr. Shapiro to convince us if God was real.  I do not think this would work out because everyone believes in what they want to believe in.  For instance, I don’t know exactly what I believe in but I believe in a bigger force then me.  I believe in a force that gives people strength or force and something to believe in.  Giving people something to believe in gives them hope.  Without anything to believe in, people may feel alone or worthless.  For example, my friend’s grandma survived cancer two times.  Both times, the doctors did not think that she was going to make it.  She prayed to God everyday and prayed for her life.  She thinks this saved her and that is what she believes in.  Believing in God helped her believe in something that could help her through this tough stage in life.  Not everyone has to believe in God, but everyone can believe in whatever they want to to give them hope.  However if you believe in something, I don’t think you should make others believe in the same thing.  Everyone should be able to believe in what they want to believe in.
