Oh, My God

      Today’s discussion was based on the highly controversial topic of religion. Every time religion is brought up in a group discussion there is almost a guarantee that someone is going to try to convince the others that their belief system is “correct”. These are the reasons that we have wars and disputes and moreover, religion is one of the major bases that keeps the world entertained. In other words, without different religions (as we discussed in class), we would all be bored. For this exact reason, I would not like to know for a fact if God is real because I would rather live my life forming my own, personalized form of religion. As human beings, we like to comfort ourselves with what we believe is a “good” system of beliefs. If we knew for a fact who God was, a great amount of thinking would be eliminated and people would be predetermined to believe in one concept.
