A line that
interested me a lot in the section we went over today was, “to be too conscious
is an illness,” (page 3). The narrator
thinks that since he is too conscious of everything that he does, it is the
same thing as having an illness. This is
because his consciousness controls his life.
It makes him overthink everything to the point that he cannot pursue an
action.
I also
found the discussion on how you want to ruin your friend’s fun when you are not
having fun interesting. It is true that
sometimes I do not want to go out to dinner with my parents because I would
rather not miss out on what my friends are doing. For example, when I am out of town and my
friends are all hanging out I get jealous and do not want them to have that much
fun. I am not like this because I want
to ruin the fun, I just don’t want to miss out on a great night that they will
be talking about forever.
