Being convinced of a certain god

Today's discussion could have been "controversial" to other classes, but I appreciate how our class was able to surpass that and actually be open to new ideas. Thinking back on the lecture and trying to analyze it for myself, I realized that if you, Mr. Shapiro, were to convince me of that God, but it was not the one I believe in now... I would not want to be convinced. I think there is a certain comfort with, as you said, hearing what you want to hear and having someone further confirm to you that what you believe, is true. I do not consider myself close minded, because I am extremely open minded to using reasoning and actually understand my religion, which is Roman Catholic. Coming from Rome, Italy, my family has always been very religious. Anyway, what stood out to me was that point that if you were to convince me of a different god, I probably would not want to hear it.
