Pain

I enjoyed the chapter we talked about today about pain.  I enjoyed it because I agreed with what the narrator was saying.  When we are hurt, we moan to get more attention.  If we were alone, we would not moan because there would be no point of it.  We moan so our friends or family will hear us.  We want them to hear us so they can come and give us more attention because they feel bad for us having to deal with the pain.  The narrator states this perfectly when he writes, “if he did not feel enjoyment in them he would not moan,” (page 9).  We take this pain in our advantage to get more attention.

I also agree with what the narrator wrote about how we enjoy feeling pain.  We like knowing that we can still feel and that we are alive.  For example, when my toe hurts, I press on it to feel pain because I like that pain.  Not only does it feel better once I release, but it feels good to press it because it makes it feel better.  I do not agree with everything the narrator says in this book, but I do agree with this paragraph.
