Makeup comment on Shannon's post from yesterday (Alexia Barrios)

I agree with Shannon on her commentary on her post from yesterday. It is evident that the narrator is a egotistical man with a possible superiority complex, but at the same time he is ashamed of his “disease” that is his heightened consciousness.   He has learn to live with the disease as Shannon said, and he has taken pride in his superior capabilities but what he is ashamed of is the fact that others won't accept him like how he accepts himself, so he hides his true self by avoiding eye contact and social interactions with other people. I find this interesting about him because it is almost contradictory in the sense that if he was truly as proud of his acute consciousnesses as he leads us to believe, why would he care so much about the opinions of others. Why not brush aside their commentary and label them all as idiots and their analysis of him as worthless as they are?
