2/4 discussion

I found today's discussion extremely interesting, especially the discussion about religion and that whole “debate.” I know that the whole point was not to debunk, or prove, religion or god, the point of the demonstration was to set up a mental experiment so that we could realize how human curiosity would lead the group to want to hear the answer. Yet the main point that the discussion was getting at was the idea that even if there were a god, or some perfect system, that humans would betray the actions that would go in their best interest just to have some semblance of freedom. We would destroy order because in essence, it is just too boring, and people need to have a sense that they have some sort of control over at least their own decisions. I find this idea to be extremely interesting in that it makes a lot of sense and is one of the biggest inaccuracies to any proposed utopia society, the idea that perfection is boring.
