Second Blog

Today in class we spoke on the question of whether Dostoyevsky is genius, or insane. Personally, I think that with "geniusness" comes insanity. They go hand in hand. But, I do not think of him as a mad man. Actually, as I keep reading the novel and his rambling, his rambling is literally just all inner thoughts that each and every single one of us has. We think so many things to ourselves, but we never say it, so why not write it down? I am not very good at thinking things out in my head, so I usually have to write down what I am thinking to figure out what I want to do. I think he does the same on some level -- he might be writing down his thoughts to understand himself. I do not remember exactly, but I think we might have touched upon that in class today. The reading still has not presented me any trouble, I just need to focus twice as much and cannot allow myself to get distracted, or else I will have to reread paragraphs multiple times. I am curious to see where this novel will head towards...
