I further
indulged myself into the novel in these next fifteen pages. The author touches
upon some really interesting topics, which makes me want to consider him as more
of a genius than an idiot. He does contradict himself further, but only because
he is trying to convince himself. Every person goes through this process, and
is not able to deny it. Throughout a thought process, one is going to consider
both sides. In this case, the narrator wanted his emotions to be sincere, which
I believe they are. But he is able to convince himself otherwise, and makes
himself believe they are a misconception of his emotion.
I also find
the topic of boredom interesting. This intertwines with the idea of a free man
versus a defined man. A man should not act as he should, but society seems to
enforce these rules. I keep seeing recurring criticism about society, which I partly
agree with. But some of it is just exaggerated.
