The Beginning. (Carlye Nealon)

I did not know what to expect when I first started reading Notes from the Underground.  I was kind of scared from how hard I heard it was to read.  Also, I’m not the best reader when it comes to difficult books, so I was not too excited to start. However, Mr. Shapiro was right, this is a hard book to understand.  I find myself rereading the same sentences over and over again to try to find the meanings behind them.  It takes me awhile to get through one page of this book, so I feel like it will be a hard one.
Even though it is a hard read, I like the thought process behind the narrator.  He overthinks everything and thinks he is not normal because of this.  He also contradicts a lot of what he says.  For example at the beginning of the book he says he is a spiteful man but later on he says he is not spiteful at all.  The style of this book is very free style and sometimes it is hard to understand what is happening because of that.  I still do not know what to expect from the narrator as I keep reading.
