DOES HE NOT GET THE HINT (Carlye Nealon)

I am starting to feel bad for the narrator.  He seems like he had a sad childhood and was not noticed often.  There were many parts in today’s reading that made me cringe with embarrassment for the narrator.  First off, I cannot believe that the narrator invited himself to his old classmate’s dinner.  It was so obvious that no one wanted him there and he did not get the hint or did not care that they didn’t want him so he went anyways.  Then it got even more awkward when the men moved to the couch and did not invite him.  I felt pity for the narrator because he did not know what to do and just walked back and forth.  I understand why the men did not want to hang out with the narrator though.  He was acting rude and was offending all of them.
The last part that I could not take anymore was when he followed them to the brothel.  DOES HE NOT GET THAT THEY DON’T WANT HIM???!! It’s sad but he needs to get the hint and back off and go home.  The narrator is the type of character that overthinks everything and can’t stop thinking about something unless he clears it up.  I feel bad for him because of this.
